Redefining a Legacy Art Journal, Creating New Platforms
Afterall Journal’s New Identity
Published twice a year, each issue of Afterall journal includes in-depth considerations of the work of contemporary artists, as well as essays on art history and critical theory. Afterall was launched in 1999 and is published by Central Saint Martins and partners. For the fiftieth anniversary issue, Pacific was tapped to create a new identity for the storied journal, as well as executing a comprehensive redesign.

Afterall Artschool
Launched at a moment of profound uncertainty for education in general and arts education in particular, ArtSchool is a multi-layered multimedia platform that Pacific designed and developed with the Afterall team for scholars and critics to join with art-workers, students and teachers to collectively reflect on the multiple histories, presents and potential futures of teaching and learning art.

Two Works Series
The Two Works series engages with the visual artwork’s potential for productive encounter with text, and its participation in regimes of thought and communication beyond the visual.

The Black Atlantic Museum
In 2022, Pacific designed and built the Black Atlantic Museum website, hosted by ArtSchool. The digital museum examines Black cultural production and its influence on contemporary art and exhibition histories in the years since the publication of sociologist Paul Gilroy's seminal work The Black Atlantic: Modernity and Double Consciousness.
